Hard snow pack for majority of hike, minimal post holes off the sides of the trail. I used microspikes, there were a few places of exposed trail/rock/mud, and the snow pack didn't budge if you stay in the middle of the trail. The middle/upper steeper sections were smooth and had a thin later of slush, making the trail slick, and would have been very difficult without traction. The loop at the top was slushy in spots and did not have a flat/solid trail in some areas. |
