Comments
Comments: Started at 4:45 AM by headlamp making the monotony of the Lincoln Woods trail enjoyable. The hard pack was easy to bareboot the 3 miles to the Wilderness trail. Wore snowshoes the rest of the way. Wilderness trail & Bondcliff Trails are well broken out. First 2 stream crossings on Bondcliff are open, I bushwhacked along the frozen stream bed from the 3rd to the 4th crossing.

From the Bondcliff summit to slightly past the col (approx .6 miles) is bare rock and barebooting was the easest method to progress. Hard packed snow from slightly past the col all the W Bond Summit. Returned the way I came. Snow and minor wind above tree line.

The snow converted to rain at approx ~3000 Ft, this along with warmer temperatures made the trail conditions completely different on descent converting the footing to soft wet sticky snow that sticks to the bottom of snowshoes. The previously hard packed Lincoln Woods trail was soft and mushy making snowshoes (or skis) the optimal chioce.

Enjoyed the signs between the Black Pond trail to the bridge. FYI: 85 paces = 200 FT

Other than the summits being socked in with minimal views it was a great day to be in the woods.
