Comments
Comments: With the crowds in Pinkham notch for the inferno opted to head over to arethusa falls. Ended up being a great choice. Trails weren't too crowded today. Snow cover still bottom to top. Spring snow but trail was solid unless you stepped off the side then people were still postholing 2 feet or so - snowshoes weren't needed today. There was still a good snowbridge to cross and get up close to the falls. Light traction helpful for one steep pitch as you head down to the falls and also useful coming down as the snow got a bit slippery. Falls were impressive today especially with clear blue skies as a background. A lot of ice on both sides - a couple of large pieces came off while we were there so keep an eye open.
