Had trouble figuring out how to layer up today - it was warm low and superwindy high up. Ridge to Middle Carter was socked in and spitting snow. Imp had drifted A LOT - some big ones. Across the ridge the trough had filled in. Snow was VERY sticky on the descent - had to keep hitting the snowshoes. At one point, when I could tell I wouldn't sink, I barebootoed, particularly 19MB. Great day to get these peaks!!! |
