Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: York Pond Rd wasn’t a problem. Couple inches of snow the last couple miles, after the hatchery. Granny in the afternoon on the way out but not a problem. Will probably be gone after tonight’s forecasted rain.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Lots of teeny streams to get over. A few stable snow bridges. A few skitchy snow bridges, easy to go around with barely a minor inconvenience. Several bridgeless with only an inch of water running - can jump across the steep trenches or carefully slide/step down and up.

Comments
Comments: The snow depth is still high, obscuring most of the cut logs and corridor that would help make the way more obvious. But thanks to last weekend’s post-hikers, I was able to pretty well follow the trail by tracking drifted-over footprints. I was out from 11:30 to 2:30, only post-holed a few times myself on the descent when the snow was much softer and stickier. My own fault for not summiting; I knowingly started too late and didn’t trust I’d have enough time to go all the way up and down before the gate possibly closed at 4pm, per the signage. Micro-spikes were sufficient for me from TH to junction with Kilkenny at mile 3, where I decided to turn around.
