 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked on 3 Mile Rd which was muddy but not too bad. Just don’t go too fast. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Ice - Breakable Crust, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Not an issue |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail blazed in white for the AT. Not that it was difficult to follow by redlining standards but the trail was more obscure in some spots than I anticipated. No navigational issues |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
I don’t recall any but they’d probably be fine |
|
 | Bugs: |
Saw some flying insects. I didn’t see any biting me but I felt itchy the entire hole... maybe the black flies are out?! |
|
 | Lost and Found: |

 | Comments: |
Microspikes definitely needed yesterday with all the ice. I almost took them off once or twice since there were some long stretches of bare trail but I’m glad that I didn’t. That said, it’s possible that today’s and tomorrow’s rain will just melt everything that remains. |
