Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Mountain Road in Holderness was *not* plowed today; I had to shovel out an opening in the snowbank. The turnaround appears to be pretty muddy. It also appears the logging operations have been paused, perhaps due to this.

Comments
Comments: Shoulder season is here; if you don't have snowshoes, wait a month for this route. Should also be noted that the SLA Route 113 trailheads/trails are closed for mud season.

An inch or two of wet granular fell today, occasionally topped with a breakable crust. Some glazing on trees in places.

It was tricky going due to hidden postholes, as well as water running down Old Mountain Road. Snowshoes allowed me to go up and around a lot of it, but barebooting up the middle would be a constant mess of knee deep postholing into running water. Snowpack is generally 1 to 2 feet along this stretch.

Crawford Ridgepole was quite variable. A foot deep in somw places, minimal depth along the ascent that typically gets scoured, and some drifts 4-5 feet deep. Some monorail just prior to the summit as well.
