Trails are in pretty good condition. But with the warmer weather over the weekend it is turning into soft spring snow. We hiked in spikes up to Cedar Brook trail then switched to snowshoes as the trail was getting soft and was seeing some postholing. Stayed in our snowshoes almost all the way back to the Cedar Brook trail. Snowshoes are a must between the two peaks as others have mentioned. Also feels almost like a BW because you are hiking in the treetops!
Snow cover is still really high on the summits which worked out great in our favor as the views from the North Peak were outstanding. |
