Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This trail has a ton of stopover and a few walk around blowdowns. The blazing is pretty good except for a confusing portion between Bacon Ledge and Round Mountain but if you just look around a bit, you'll see them! Lots of the usual spring branch debris.

Comments
Comments: Did this trail about 6 years ago when redlining and not concerned about the 500 highest. Also think we too the bypass by mistake as no memory of Bacon Ledge. Today we headed up what looked to be a dry trail but within .1 mile, we had to stop to put on microspikes. The trail had long sections of ice and shallow spring snow much of the way. At 3/4 mile mark the trail splits, the bypass and the main trail. We took a right turn as it appeared to be better blazed. The trail soon became more of a bushwhack with blazes until we started climbing when it became much clearer. The trail up to Bacon Ledge was a little steep for spikes but we soon found an unmarked bypass to the left which got us up to the trail and the cairn. The trail to Round Mountain was mostly flat until just before the summit when it climbed easily to a large boulder with a small cairn atop it. The register jar is on the tree next to this boulder, slightly hidden when coming from the direction we had come. Signed in and headed back down the way we came.
