Comments
Comments: Route follows snow machine path across the edge of the fields and bears left at first major junction (careful not to take left side path). Might not be entirely clear to first-timer - I would suggest a GPS as there are no hiking blazes until the hiking trail junction, then, there are plentiful orange blazes. Regardless, you have to pay attention to blazes as footbed isn't that clear - I took a few wrong turns. Snowshoes necessary once above Spectacle Pond - snow is fragile and collapsing but 2-3' deep along entire ridge with a few bare spots. I still punched through in a few places. I carried the snowshoes for the first mile-ish but was glad I had them for the ridge. Was a bit tedious finding good footing. Terrific views between the trees - could see Mt Cardigan, Newfound Lake, Mt Carr (I think), and, of course, the backside of Tenney and the wind farm.
