Comments
Comments: nineteen mile well packed out. carter dome had a nice snowshoe track with some light drifting. carter-moriah was totally blown in with traces of previous snowshoe tracks in well sheltered sections. varied from 6-12" with deeper drifted sections. had to do a bit of route finding. a fair amount of spruce banging in spots. trail towards carter dome was well tracked out.
wore snowshoes the whole hike. will definitely want them once beyond nineteen mile.
a beautiful, cold and windy day in the carter range. snow is really loaded up on the ridge creating numerous winter only viewpoints (and a bit more exposure in spots). middle carter is on its way to becoming an open summit with all of the snow. real nice.
