Comments: This part of the report is from Carl Rosenthal:

The weather started out warm, for early March, and gray for our hike to Carter Dome. The 19 Mile Brook Trail was broken out which we expected, but we were surprised to the find the Carter Dome Trail broken out also. On the final mile of the Carter Dome Trail, the sun started to appear off and on and we got some fairly nice views of Mt. Hight, the other Carters and looking towards Gorham.

After summiting, we went down the trail a bit to an open space and had lunch in the sun. Just as we started to move again, the sky got very dark, the wind got much stronger and it started to snow. Between the wind and the snow it was kind of uncomfortable as we made our way down to Zeta Pass. After that it continued to snow, but the wind was no longer a concern.
I would add that on the Carter Dome trail, there were quite a few spruce traps do to the very deep snow. Trail signs were either buried or just peaking out of the snow.
