The Tower Trail is completely ice covered on the first section for quite a ways. Spikes are highly recommended. I saw people coming down in sneakers walking over in the trees in the snow because the trail was so treacherous, but it was no problem in spikes. There are patches of ground here and there but the farther up you go it is almost completely open ground. The fire tower is being worked on- they have taken off the "house" part at the top and I believe they are reconstructing it, but there is no access to the tower right now. |
