We drove, and also walked, the road in front of the apple orchard without seeing NO Trespassing signs, although there are signs on the road before and after the apple orchard. We followed faint snowshoe tracks on the north side of the orchard and directed ourselves to an opening in the woods on the W side. Once in the woods, there was a nice new sign: NO TRESPASSING WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE OWNER. So we turned back.
A photo of this apple orchard appears on the Lakes Region Conservation Trust website under Farm Trust Conservation Easement Project. The map shows a small triangular sliver of land that is the apple orchard. Unfortunately this sliver of land is isolated, by private land, from the rest of the project thereby eliminating access to the Larcoms from the E side. |
