Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking on plowed, untreated lot. Ice. Tons of ice. Had use 4 wheel drive to back out of parking space. But it is a very short drive, maybe 6 car lengths from US 302 to the parking spaces. Low clearance cars OK.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water is now open. Able to wade through in snowshoes. Deepest water was over the top of my boot. Minor tributary crossings are opening up making it tricky to cross in snowshoes, light traction would make it simple to cross.

Comments
Comments: In agreement with the White Mountain Guide. This is indeed one of the best views in the Whites. The trail is well broken out and easy to follow. For those that’s like “blaze reassurance,” take note that only the rerouted “newer” trail section is blazed yellow. After that there are no markings on Signal Ridge Trail.

Thanks to prior hikers for wearing snowshoes and keeping the trail a smooth super highway. No post holes.

I had serious issues with snow balling up under heel spikes of snowshoes. Frustrating and tiresome on the small muscles of the legs. Also caused major issues with balance and traction. The warmer temps and beautiful sunshine make for a wet slushy surface with interspersed sections of more frozen, harder snow. Perfect recipe for snow clumping and balling up. The hikers wearing micros did not appear to have this issue.

Lovely to meet the Wednesday Hikers on the last push to the summit! Beware, they move faster than they look like they can!! Haha!
