Packed trail to Kinsman Pond Trail. I mistakenly followed someones showshoe track just after the crossing which went to a stealth camp. Followed GPS back to the trail. Hopefully others find the real trail
I was the only one above that on Kinsman Pond Trail to the shelter. Tough to follow through the snow draped trees and drifts, meandered a couple times to find the corridor. Some of the blue blazes are just at snow height and can be missed.
Made it to the shelter but trail breaking was tough so skipped the summits and descended Fishin Jimmy which was well packed and prime for sledding. Cascade Brook from the hut to the Basin went smooth, a few drifted spots but otherwise loose packed. |
