| Comments: |
Starting from the York Pond trailhead, we ascended Bunnell Notch trail which was broken out, albeit tons of postholes and wet, heavy snow for the first 1.5 miles. There are several incorrect trails from multiple people who attempted to break trail before us, but we did do our best to break out the actual trail where possible. Hopeful that the trail was broken to the summit of Cabot, we continued on until we ran into a father and son near the Kilkenny Ridge junction. They informed us that they did not make it to the summit, but did break trail out to the old Mt Cabot trail junction. We got a late start and with the heavy, wet snow, we also decided to call it quits.
tldr; As of 3/24 Mount Cabot is NOT broken out past the Mt Cabot junction on Bunnell Notch trail (1.4 miles to the summit from there). |
