The Crawford Path was in good shape all the way to treeline. We started later in the day so it was well packed by the time we got there. Once at treeline, several snowshoe paths meander around up to Pierce. The ridge to Eisenhower is a mix of drifts, loose snow, and packed powder. Beware of the many spruce traps hidden under those drifts. Some are chest deep. Best to use snowshoes crossing the ridge due to this. The summit cone is fine and actually quite pleasant now with the strong sunshine. |
