Comments
Comments: What a beautiful day! Spring weather, with winter trail conditions! What more could you ask for? Trail is nicely broken out all the way to the top. The snow is quite deep at the moment, with all the extra accumulation received in the last couple days. Some of the blue blazes are at the snow line. Snowshoes were very much mandatory today, with one group attempting in microspikes, but I'm not sure if they made it all the way up, or down. Even after today's crowds (there were lots hiking) packing things down, I would still recommend snowshoes for the foreseeable future. The zig zags across the Kinsman Glade ski trail were pretty manageable going up, but by the descent, the skiers had skied a lot of the powder off, and some crossings were pretty icy. Overall, the trail was easy to follow, with one left turn off the glade ski trail being the only turn you could potentially miss (keep an eye out for that!). Trail is in great shape though, and a real pleasure to hike!
