Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I was able to pull far enough off to get a foot or two behind the white line. Parked right at the sign for the military place and walked a hundred yards or so along the snowbank and up a little hill to the trailhead on route 2. The trailhead was smooshed between the sign for the military camp and another road I believe on the other side. I drove right by it at first. Very easy to miss. I believe I was the only car there all day.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Drifts, Snow - Wet/Sticky
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I managed today but it was hard going up/down steep embankments with the ice/snow bridges often gone. They’ll get more difficult in the coming month.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Not much blaze and what blaze there was was paced incosistently and was usually faded.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I don’t know if it’d be a good trail for them given current conditions.
Bugs
Bugs: Some some snowfleas for the first time in awhile.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: Only people I saw while on the trail were two snowmobilers at the end of the trail on the Evans Notch side. I spied some snowmobilers in the signed military area as I got back to my car as well. On my way back to the car, there was a snowshoe track that seemed to be from several snowshoers along the lower part of the trail that came from the direction of the military camp. I forget where they ended or diverged but it was probably around the logging road.

It did not feel like it was in the 30s today lol. Very, very windy even in the woods. Some of my tracks had completely blown over by the time I got back. There’s a good trench at the beginning of the trail from me and the other snowshoers that will last for a bit but once their track ends I think my track will be blown over by tomorrow morning.
