Comments: (skied) Lincoln Woods Trail, (light traction) Black Pond Trail, Black Pond Bushwack, (Lincoln Brook Trail?), (snowshoes w/ heel lift) Brutus Bushwack

8.5 hrs. 5 hr to summit and 3.5 return due to sliding down Owl's Head and skiing in & out on Lincoln Woods Trail (HIGH RECOMMEND while conditions are good). 12 other hikers today. All very packed out and easy to follow - only one way in and out! Cross Country skied in/out on Lincoln Woods Trail (awesome!!!! so much quicker) but conditions will be variable with a few, hot melting days. Leave skis at Black Pond Trail since skiing is tricky due to hard packed sides (no forgiveness on turns) and slick trails due to slight melt/thaw surface. Good 3.5 miles to base of Owl's Head. Can anyone confirm if the Black Pond Bushwack meets Lincoln Brook Trail; we did not see trail blazes so we were very confused, since my hiking partner has hiked in the summer on the Lincoln Brook Trail and thought we'd be able to ski if it was the Lincoln Brook Trail after the BP Bw, but skiing was out due to many slight and narrow ups and downs and stream closing. On the map where is does the Brutus bw to summit actual start? It seems like it is north of the "Owl's Head Path" on the map. Thanks for sharing if you know. Definiately do in winter - lovely views on the Bonds and Franconia Ridge due to less foliage and deep snow.
