Comments
Comments: The bushwhacks are hard packed - perfect time to bag OH if you need it to finish your 48. The area did get a little snow last night. Even so, the Bushwhacks were easily discernible. While we didn't need snowshoes today, I personally like to switch to snowshoes for the steepest sections of Brutus to give me better traction and televators. I was glad to have left them on as there was significant drifting from the old summit to the true summit which made route finding a bit tricky. One member of my party who did not wear snowshoes wound up in a spruce trap. I would apologize for extra tracks, but they will most likely be filled in overnight.
