Comments: Nice snowshoe bushwhack to this New Hampshire 2000-Footer and New Hampshire 500 Highest Peak. From our parking spot we headed west, jumping the 6-foot snowbank, dropped down and an easy rock hope an open stream that came from a beaver pond to the north. After the stream crossing, we had a few hundred yards of easy grade in nice woods. The nice woods continued as we turned southwest but the grade got really steep as we headed towards the north running ridge.

The snow was much more supportive that yesterday’s trek as we were able to not punch through too much. After a few hundred feet of elevation gain things leveled off to a moderate grade as we keep moving and soon enough, we hit the summit’s recognized high point and register. This summit has great views towards Mt Cardigan, Orange and Crain Mountain. It also has great views of a couple peaks we were on not too long ago, Barber Mountain and Melvin Mountain. For out return trip we followed the ridge a little further north than our accent to take some of the steep down away.

Nice quick whack clocking in about 1 mile and 500 feet of elevation gain +/-
