It was a fantastic day out. Trails are generally in good condition and if you're looking to bag the Bonds, they're certainly good enough -- now's the time to move. However, if you're not careful, you can add about half an hour plus some frustration. There's an approach to Mt Bond summit that wraps around unnecessarily, and there's a substantial amount of bushwhacking to get through all this. As you get out of the col and are significantly along your way, keep checking the GPS. Don't blindly follow the footsteps.
The Bondcliff trail from Lincoln Woods was about as good as you could want. Smooth, good traction, and easy to figure out where to go.
Photos are on my blog, and there's more where those came from. Going to bed now -- 22 miles is hard. Check back on my blog in the coming days for more imagery. |
