Bronson Hill 2,078
Nice snowshoe bushwhacks to this New Hampshire 2000-Footer & New Hampshire 500 Highest Peak. From our parking spot we strapped on our snowshoes heading northwest following the unmaintained portion of Dyke Rd. Soon enough we hit a snowmobile trial and turned right dropping down a bit. After a few hundred yards we decided it was time to start bushwhacking following the northwest running ridge at moderate grade. Things leveled off and we dropped down a bit still in nice woods.
At this point like our 1st hike of the day we started seeing lots of moose tracks, dropping and bedding down areas and then some fresh track the looked as if the moose heard us coming and hightailed it out of there. We keep moving following those tracks as he led us to the summit and recognized High point. We found a string, but no jar so we hung a new one I brought up. On our return trip we took a different route back and picked up the snowmobile trail and soon hit the truck camper for some lunch. |
