Nice snowshoe bushwhacks to this New Hampshire 500 Highest Peak. From our parking spot in singe digit temps we crossed the field heading north, entered nice open woods, very soon things got really steep for about 400 feet of elevation gain. I was punching down or snowshoe post-holing in about foot of snow. The higher we got the more moose activity we saw. Lots of tracks, dropping and bedding down areas. Once on the summit we hit all the high spots, got some distant views north towards a few of the NH 500 Highest Peaks we still needed to visit such as Farr Hill, Towns Mountain and Mount Misery. On our return trip rather than follow our footstep back we made a small loop out of it looking for moose antlers with no luck but finding more of the same moose activity on the way up.

quick hike and onto our next
