 | Comments: |
The trail is in excellent condition with evidence of people skiing down the brook with the nice snow pack. Aggressive snowshoes will get you everywhere. If you're young and careful crampons will get you the whole way up and down, although you'll be sorry if you step off the monorail. Goggles and a good shell are essential for the two miles from the shelter to treeline if you value your eyesight. Strap your gear down and leave the ice axe at home since the firs will try to rip off anything hanging on your pack. A good, challenging trail in the winter that is in the best shape I've seen it! |
