| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking on the side of the road -- the plow made a bit of a side-cut in the snowbank, so approximately half a dozen cars are fairly well shielded from oncoming traffic. Snow is forecast for Sunday AM, so this might be impacted, but probably not by much. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable) |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All still bridged. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Overall, the trail was well broken out, with insignificant patches of drifts here and there. Blowdowns were a thing in the higher elevations, as were tree branches that were very capable of poking a hiker in the eye. Wear some sort of protection -- sunglasses, goggles, etc. Some of them are pretty nasty. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
A few pups having the time of their lives. |

| Comments: |
It's a rare treat when the skies are so clear that even the big guys across the street don't have cloud-hats on their summits. Wind was forecast to slow down a fair bit as the day wore on, and it did indeed do that, so the snow didn't get blown around much. Met numerous wonderful people on the trail. Almost all were wearing snowshoes, but those in micro-spikes were moving around smartly, and not damaging the monorail by any significant amount. The snow is very well packed down just about everywhere.
Photos are on my blog. I'm behind on the videos, so that might be a day or three before it shows up. Stay tuned!
