One insulated teal colored water bottle nearing the end of the hike. As we saw no one else after we left the summit, I doubted anyone was coming back for it. I left it at the highland center front desk. |

Bluebird day not to be wasted even after forgetting my boots and having to buy another pair this morning. Temps were mild for winter. A bit breezy up top but layering up with a hooded jacket was just enough. The sun really feels warm now. We saw several others out, about half of us with the snowshoes. Trail is pretty soft and powdery, making the snowshoes useful. Whatever you choose to wear make sure you have traction for the summit section. Icy and loose powder up there. Gray jays were out collecting tolls up top too. Not as many trees poking our eyes as the last few hikes have had. Just a few before the summit. |
