Comments
Comments: Trail has a firm base made by snowshoes and non-predatory bare booters (I can tell the difference with my tracking skills) beneath several inches of fresh powder from the latest storm. We wore spikes for a short while at the beginning but switched to snowshoes at the first uphill and wore them to the base of the first scramble up high. We couldn't get adequate traction on the steep powder with snowshoes there and so wore crampons for the duration to the summit. We roughed up the surface but made no post holes. We wore snowshoes below the steeps down to the car on the descent. Snowpack is so deep that there isn't a ledge in sight over the entire hike. It looked like less traffic had continued beyond the true summit on Rollins.

Beautiful day up there and great hike with Chris.
