| Water Crossing Notes: |
A couple of seeps on the BPBW and a few step overs on the Lincoln Brook, but the major crossings are solid bridges. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Considering much of this is BW trails, very good. A couple of step overs/duck unders. The BW's do have lots of branches in your face so eyewear or care is needed. There is lots of snow so you are up high even on the actual trails. |

As stated from Thursday, OH is about as good as it gets. From the parking lot to the Lincoln Brook Tr. the trails/bush whack were packed out so you could wear boots or spikes. Lincoln Brook was less consolidated so we and others put on snowshoes here, though many stayed in spikes. Where there was drifting or on the sidehills they did beat up the trail. Some did the Brutus with spikes (saw one in bare boots) but WHY? Snowshoes had way better traction and if they had televators saved your calves! The ridge was more of the same. Butt sliders down still left a solid snow base that at this time is not icy. We and some others left the "trail" at times for better traction coming down. Stayed in shoes until about halfway on the BPBW and then spikes out. Whatever you choose right now will most likely work. First time back to OH since nature/someone cleared some trees for a view to Bonds, Mt. Washington. |
