The one major crossing was relatively easy in the morning, but on the return trip the ice was rotten and broke under me. |

The path was well packed out and relatively stable early in the morning but had softened up quite a bit by early afternoon. I post holed a few times. The snow was getting slippery and unconsolidated. If I had brought the snowshoes I would have been much happier on them rather than microspikes. Lots of butt-sledding opportunities high up on this trail. |
