Comments
Comments: This was an exploratory hike for me in preparation for a full summit attempt this month yet. Have done Washington several times in summer, but never winter and wanted to get a sense of the initial trail terrain below tree line at least. I was time limited today so went as far as ~3700' and mile mark 1.8 from the "main" Jewell trail head. The actual hike was a bit shorter as we started at the Cog base station. Views were incredible looking up at Mt Wash from a few vantage points along the trail. Used snowshoes entire time and was perfect.
