Comments
Comments: Beautiful conditions with very little wind and minimal clouds. Perfect day above tree line. First 2 miles was packed out but semi soft in areas, snowshoes worked great. From there to grey knob was mix of loose powdery areas not packed as well as slid off steep inclines, snow shose with aggressive crampon worked very well. Skipped going over to Grey knob. Once about the trees, in most areas snow was thin and firm with some patches of non-steep ice. . I wore crampons, which were very nice in some sections and a bit of a pain in the boulder fields as there was not enough snow or ice. Micro spikes would probably have been sufficient. Did some glissading on the way down below tree line, great conditions for that.
