Comments
Comments: The weekend's mixed precip appeared to be a net gain in snowpack, plus some additional drifting powder on top. Unfortunately, a parasitic postholer decided to bareboot up yesterday, making a little bit of a mess on Old Mountain Road and trashing Crawford Ridgepole. It was a pretty pathetic performance, as they were trying to match their steps to the prior snowshoe steps, while being forced to cling to the trees off trail to avoid a very deep snow drift. Hopefully tonight's snow will help mitigate the damage, but it doesn't seem like there will be enough.

Anyway, there is a heck of a lot of snow up here and any crust is not firm enough to support boots, so common sense dictates using snowshoes.
