Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Didn't have any real trouble with York Pond road in my FWD hatchback without snow tires, even with a couple fresh inches of snow and only a single pair of tire tracks to drive in. Parked in the Unknown Pond lot. The road had been plowed on my way out, which made things easier.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Many water crossings on this route. Most are an easy step over. A couple require a few seconds of strategizing and something between a step and a leap.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found my own snowshoe crampon cover thing, which I accidentally left on one of my shoes like a dingus.

Comments
Comments: Re-broke the trail Friday morning after a fresh bit of snowfall, followed immediately by 2 other hikers in snowshoes and 2 dogs bare-pawing it. The previous track was easy to locate except for 1 stretch along a ridge where I had to reference GPS to make sure I was on course. Portions of Bunnell Notch are really quite beautiful as the snow interacts with the stream and the trail gently rolls along. Light snowfall really added to the snowglobey magic of the day. Kilkenny Ridge had already been broken out to Cabot Cabin by at least 1 other hiker in snowshoes. If there was snowshoe track continuing on to the actual summit, I didn't locate it. I tried to get as close as I could, but both GPS accuracy and the wind were conspiring against me. I suppose it's a philosophical question whether I "summited" Cabot. Passed 2 other hikers on my way back down, so I suspect there was a nice track started going into the weekend.
