 | Comments: |
Hitch a ride on a snowmobile or ski in on Gale River Road for the first 2 miles, on route to Gale River Trailhead, to add a little spice to the trip. Trail was broken be snowshoes a few days before, with a dusting on 1.5 inches. No postholes. Gorgeous bluebird day. Only saw 3 others, who came from the Twins and then packed out Gale River Trail. Garfield Ridge Trail to Garfield Mtn was not broken, so if heading that way snowshoes would definitely be required. Relatively, mellow, gradual trail except the last mile to the Galehead Hut. Easy hike from Hut to Galehead Peak. |
