We walked the short distance down the very well-packed Davis Path. We turned onto the Hope trail, which was not obvious or broken. We followed the trail with some minor digressions to the summit, often having to hunt for the next blaze or evidence of corridor. We descended south, favoring the gentler terrain to the col and then up the south peak. Two possible highpoints, one recognized near a very nice view. We dropped straight off the ridge to the west, favoring the north when possible. Upon reaching the river, we followed it back to Davis Path.
Snow was a mainly supportive breakable crust, though sometimes it broke, resulting in sinking a few inches or much more. |
