 | Comments: |
The blue trail to Major was pretty treacherous. The ledges just before the summit were totally iced. We tried but didn't get very far, and even though I was wearing crampons and my friend wore Hillsounds, we were not able to make much progress. But there is a bypass around the right side of the ledges so we managed to get to the summit via the bypass. The summit is dry, no ice. Our goal was to make it to Rand, but all the steep sections had so much ice that we were slowed down so much that we didn't have time to make it to Rand. We got to West Quarry and headed down to Reed Rd where we had spotted a car. |
