Comments
Comments: Well our orginal Plan was to go up the jewell trail but we went to the cut off and couldn’t even tell where it went as no one has touched it for a while (at least a foot of snow). Not sure how jewell it self looked, but when we crossed it up on the ridge you wouldn’t be able to tell either way. So we went up the cog-first snd only Ones up there at the time we Started. Undercast started to happen before our eyes which is always lovely. If we had more time in the day we would have grabbed the big guy but our main goal was Jefferson, (it was so clear and so close next time!)it started to get windy up on the ridge and our goggles went on and didn’t come off until we were back on the cog past jacobs ladder.

Once we past Clay and started to head on did we see our first crew pass us all with spikes or Crampons... we all had on snowshoes-which was good for the cog but the ridge was wind blown with some drifts. Well once we made it to the cornice 2nd junction we watched Jefferson disappear before our eyes. My legs got so cold I had to move as one of us had to put on snow pants. So i moved and at times from cairn to cairn they disappeared into the clouds.once they started to move I could see them on and off. We all got together right before the top and made it! It was windy, cold, and in a cloud. But Joe got his winter and regular 47/48, 66/67, and 99/100th peak! Wooo! We shuffled back down and I threw my snowpants on for the head off from the cornice. We made it back to the cog and saw some more people in just crampons. Did not know it was going to be very painful heading down the cog.... everyone who went up it after us post holed in very softsnow. Well we made it back to the lot and to the next adventure!
