Comments
Comments: Valley Way seemingly/surprisingly not travelled since the last snowstorm on Tues night, until Sunday. 2 barebooters postholing deeply (??) preceded us, but they turned around halfway up. 4 of us in snowshoes packed out 10-15 inches of powder with deeper drifts (2 ft). Socked in conditions above treeline, though started with sun and blue sky for the first half of the morning. Snowshoes to JQ, Hillsounds back to the hut, snowshoes all the way back down Valley Way. 4 others in snowshoes up Valley Way to Madison and down. 2 more barebooters after us to the hut and back. Valley Way in good condition but still very soft--snowshoes recommended. Who knows what this week's weather will do... Hillsounds or crampons best above treeline, though some very deep drifts on Gulfside near the hut.
