I wasn't going to post a trip report but just wanted to note that the backcountry ski trails were pretty punched up and postholed/boot-holed from "hikers" and sledders. Blue-signed trails are NOT for hiking!!!! IT is dangerous to create postholes and then have skiers try to not catch an edge in them!!! Not as much an issue for me as I was on a split board and could fill in quite a few of the holes on the descent but there's a reason these are marked for "skiing"!!! Please respect the signs!!!! If sledders were actually sledding the entire way, wouldn't be that much of an issue but the minute they reach an area not steep enough to sled, they punch up the trails with boot/post-holes..... and then it's easy to run into sledders when on the downhill as they are wallowing in the deep snow. I don't think they realize this is an issue but it is. |
