Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked on the west side of Mountain Rd, Newbury NH about .45 miles from the Andrews Brook Trail Head. Prior to parking at this location, we attempted to park at another location, pulled off the roadway into a snow cover ditch with my 1-ton, dual wheel long bed truck, got stuck and had to get pulled out by a good Samaritan passing by.

Comments
Comments: We started bushwhacking southeast in nice woods, moderate grade and soon ran into posted signage. We then turned south, dropped down in elevation to stay below the posted property line. Soon enough the signage disappeared, and we once again turned southeast towards the summit occasionally seeing more posted signs and continued to skirt around them heading toward the southwest running ridgeline.

To this point the woods were fairly open and anywhere from 8 to 12 inches of new snow. For the last few hundred feet of elevation gain the woods tightened up, the climb got much steeper, the snow depth was much less with a hard pack below and somehow without me noticing I was one snowshoe shy strapped on to my feet, LOL. We back tracked a bit but decided we were close enough to the summit I’d just grab it on the way back. Soon after we popped out into deep snow, one footed spruce traps with great view area toward the south.

We then popped back into the woods to the recognized high point bracket with missing register. We followed our tracks back finding my snowshoe at the beginning of the steep stuff and headed back to the truck staying further away from the posted property line.

Another great adventure with my beautiful bridge on a chilly morning
