Broke out 1-3 inches of fresh snow, with some drifting in spots on the ridge. The trail was otherwise nicely packed and easy to follow. Some postholing spots by barebooters. Very windy day. There was little escape from the wind the entire trip. The winds on summits were hostile, as anticipated. Got blown off the trail into a spruce trap near the summit of Flume. Thankfully, the snow nearby was hard packed and was able to get out. Great to hike with Rols again. |
