| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are a few trees across the trail, however they are easily passable. I did not notice trail markings until about 1.5 miles from the summit. At that point they were not very helpful as the trail was more obvious and the trail signs were nearby. The few yellow markers on trees appeared to have been painted 1-200 years ago on long dead trees. Very faint. There was one tree near the intersection with a few white circles nailed to it. |

| Comments: |
This was an enjoyable trail which begins with a slow rise and takes the hiker along the nearby river. It was a nice incline and the trail was wide enough to comfortably wear snow shoes. However, the trail markings are seemingly either under the 5 feet of snow pack or not there. There had been enough snow and drifts that the entire trail was covered and not readily visible. A large group was in front of me and packed down the first 1/3 of the trail before they turned back. On the way down most of my snow shoe tracks, and the guy who came after me, were nearly gone. I wore shoes all the way to the lot. Great hike but it needs a few blazes especially before the junction of Bunnell and Kilkenny. |
