Comments
Comments: See Tom B's report on East Osceola, he and his wife did a nice job breaking out the peak this morning for those of us who followed. We did not need crampons for the steep sections, but if it was icy we would have.

From the summit of East Osceola to Osceola and Tripoli Road, the snow was softer and less packed down, powder under crust, snowshoes were necessary. The bottom of the chimney looked like an iced-over waterfall; we were able to bypass it completely with some bushwacking in the trees to the right hand side of the trail. Tripoli Road is groomed as a cross country ski trail, so it was an easy, downhill roadwalk back to the parking area. Snowshoes are required for hikers on Tripoli Road.
