Beware in the area around the summit because the footprints don't always lead in the right direction. At one point, the tracks break off to the right and I ended up hugging the edge of a ski trail. For most of the way, the trail is packed down and offers several excellent stretches for butt-sliding, with or without a sled. The trip down took about half the time of the trip up.
Isn't likely to matter after tonight's snow, but today the trail was packed enough to make it with just microspikes but take one step off and expect to go down into the drift. I did the whole up-and-back in snowshoes. |
