Hiking Trail Conditions Report Peaks None, NH Trails: Bald Mountain Notch Trail Date of Hike: Thursday, January 24, 2019 Parking/Access Road Notes: Just pulled off to the side of the road and hoped that I wouldn’t get stuck on this very rainy day :)   Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder  Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes  Water Crossing Notes: None that aren’t on a bridge  Trail Maintenance Notes: Some learners   Dog-Related Notes: I imagine it wouldn’t be a smart choice given all the wet unpacked powder.   Bugs: None  Lost and Found: None    Comments: Height of land on Bald Mtn Notch Trail Snowshoes car to car (except for the last 10 yards where my snowshoe fell off for the 3rd time and I finally kept it off;). I was usually sinking 6-8 inches in snowshoes although my pole would sink much deeper at higher elevations. Given how wet the snow was it was very grueling. Only the first 1.3mi along the snowmobile trail was broken. As I gained what little elevation there was to gain I’d occasionally sink deeper in my snowshoes but never deeper than my knee. Bright yellow blaze was somewhat sparse around some of the intersections with woods roads which caused me to pause more than a few times.
