Comments
Comments: Followed the beginnings of a snowshoe track about a third of the way to where those folks turned around at a 10-15' stretch of evergreens bent and frozen into the trail. I bushwhacked around on the way out, crawled through on the way back, and broke out the rest of the trail to Crockett's Ledge. Would recommend snowshoes for at least the next few folks to follow. There's a nice firm base under the latest snow, but the new stuff is very powdery (under a thin icy crust) and one smallish human plus one dog did not a well-consolidated track make. Had hoped to continue to White Mountain Ledge, but ran out of time, alas. Very pleasant, peaceful outing on a chilly day!
