Comments
Comments: Beauty of a day to be above tree line. Crawford Path up to Webster Cliff junction and Webster Cliff to Pierce summit were well packed. Crawford Path to Ike and Mt Eisenhower Loop were broken out but much less consolidated. I wore snowshoes all day but spike would be ok to the summit of Pierce, snowshoes a must to head over to Ike. There were several booters heading to and from Ike shredding the trail to pieces. I don't know why people find hiking like that enjoyable. There were more snowshoers than booters today so we were able to smooth out the trail some. Snow depths along the ridge are 5-6 feet. Some boilerplate ice on the summit cone of Ike to negotiate but my Flex Alps handled it just fine. Cold day but the light wind and bright sun made it feel much warmer.
